DOVE (MOURNING, WHITE-WINGED): Sept. 4-Oct. 9, Nov. 22-27, Dec. 18-Jan. 14; daily 15, possession 30; shooting hours Sept. 4 noon-sunset; rest of season half-hjour before sunrise until sunset

RAIL (KING, CLAPPER): Sept. 4-Nov. 12; daily 15, possession 30

RAIL (SORA, VIRGINIA): Sept. 4-Nov. 12; daily 25, possession 25

GALLINULE, MOORHEN: Sept. 4-Nov. 12; daily 15, possession 30

WOODCOCK: Dec. 31-Jan. 29; daily three, possession 6

COMMON SNIPE: Nov. 12-Feb. 26; daily eight, possession 16

CANADA GOOSE: Sept. 1-30 (statewide); daily 15, possession 30; west of U.S. 17 only during September only, expanded methods allowed (shooting hours extended to half-hour hour after sunset; unplugged guns permitted; , electronic calls permitted)

SEPTEMBER TEAL (BLUE-WINGED, GREEN-WINGED, CINNAMON): Sept. 11-29 (east of U.S. 17 only); daily four, possession eight

BEAR

LIMITS: daily limit one, season one

SEASONS: Western, Oct. 18-Nov. 20 and Dec. 13-Jan. 1; Eastern, Nov. 8-Jan. 1 (counties of Bladen, Carteret, Cumberland, Duplin, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender, Sampson; use of dogs prohibited in Pamlico), Dec. 6-25 (Brunswick, Columbus), Nov. 8-13 and Dec. 13-25 (Beaufort, Camden, Chowan, Craven, Dare, Jones, Pasquotank, Tyrrell, Washington); Nov. 8-13 and Dec. 13-15 (Halifax, Martin, Northampton), Nov. 6-13 and Dec. 13-25 (Bertie, Currituck, Gates, Hertford, Perquimans), Nov. 8-13 (Greene, Lenoir, Pitt); N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission requests an upper premolar tooth (located behind upper canine) to determine bear's age, information valuable for the monitoring and management the bear population; contact staff in the field or call Wildlife Management division at 919-707-0050.

NORTHWESTERN: bow-and-arrow, Sept. 11-Nov. 5; muzzleloader, Nov. 6-19; gun, Nov. 20-Jan. 1

WESTERN: bow-and-arrow, Sept. 13-Oct. 2, Oct. 18-Nov. 20; muzzleloader, Oct. 4-16; gun, Nov. 22-Dec. 11

BAG LIMITS: no daily limit, possession six, season six; in Eastern season, four deer may be antlered; Central, Northwestern, Western seasons, limit two antlered; Bonus Antlerless Harvest Report Cards allow two additional antlerless deer per card

WILD BOAR

SEASON: Sept. 13-Feb. 18, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Jackson, Macon, Swain counties; elsewhere, feral hogs are not regulated

LIMITS: daily one, possession one, season two

WATERFOWL

SPRING WILD TURKEY

LIMITS: daily one, possession two, annual two

YOUTH DAY: April 2; male or bearded turkey only; statewide, some game lands require permit; youths (15 and younger) must be accompanied by licensed adult 21 or older; adult may not hunt

SEASON: April 9-May 7 (male or bearded turkey only)
