Since 1977, Grammy-winning Cajun band BeauSoleil has ranked as a foremost ambassador of Louisiana's traditional Cajun and Zydeco musical culture. Led by National Heritage Fellow Michael Doucet's fiery fiddle, the band's snappy dance tunes have been featured on "Austin City Limits" and "A Prairie Home Companion," as well as in the films "The Big Easy" and "Passion Fish." Tonight, the band will showcase tunes from its current Grammy-nominated Yep Roc album, "Alligator Purse," at Carrboro's ArtsCenter. A free Cajun dance lesson will be offered from 8 until 8:30. www.artscenterlive.org/
