Duke University and The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame announced Thursday that they will jointly honor Clarkston Hines with an NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salute on Nov. 6 when the Blue Devils host Virginia.
The NFF announced on May 27 that Hines, a wide receiver for the Blue Devils from 1986-89 who twice earned first-team All-American honors, would be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in the class of 2010.
Named ACC Athlete of the Year in 1989 and ACC Player of the Year en route to leading the Blue Devils to the ACC championship, he still holds 10 receiving records at Duke, including career yards (3,318) and consecutive 100-yard games (7).
The 2010 Hall of Fame class will be officially inducted on Dec. 7 in New York at the NFF's Annual Awards Dinner. The class also includes Dennis Byrd (N.C. State), Ronnie Caveness (Arkansas), Ray Childress (Texas A&M), Randy Cross (UCLA), Sam Cunningham (Southern California), Mark Herrmann (Purdue), Desmond Howard (Michigan), Chet Moeller (Navy), Jerry Stovall (LSU), Pat Tillman (Arizona State), Alfred Williams (Colorado), and coaches Barry Alvarez (Wisconsin) and Gene Stallings (Texas A&M, Alabama).

Charlotte schedules Morehead State: The Charlotte 49ers football program has scheduled its first opponent.
The school announced Thursday it has entered into a home-and-home series with Morehead State. The 49ers will visit the Eagles in their first season on Nov. 23, 2013. Morehead State will play at Charlotte a year later on Nov. 22.
It's the first big move by athletic director Judy Rose since Gov. Beverly Perdue signed off on a funding bill this month for Charlotte's football stadium. Rose must still hire a coach and try to get the 49ers in a Football Championship Subdivision league.
