DURHAM -- A judge ordered Rodney McLaurin, 38, held without bail Monday in the slaying of Steven Mitchell.
In November 2007, Mitchell was found shot in the head behind an abandoned home on Wake Forest Highway. A second man, Shawn Hicks, also was found shot but was treated and released from the hospital.
Reginald Carter, 27, had already been charged with kidnapping, murder and assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the incident.
The Durham County Sheriff's Office expects more arrests. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Lt. S.E. Harris at 560-0900.
