Country stars fill out fair schedule

RALEIGH -- Three country music stars who were in town over the weekend will make a return trip to the state capital during the N.C. State Fair.

Easton Corbin, Darius Rucker and Justin Moore have been signed for the remaining three concerts scheduled for Dorton Arena during the 2010 N.C. State Fair, scheduled for Oct. 14 to 24. Fair officials were unable to announce these acts until after their August performances.

Corbin, a country newcomer whose debut album includes the hits "A Little More Country Than That" and "Roll With It," will perform in Dorton on Oct.18. Tickets are $5.

Rucker, former front man of the '90s rock band Hootie and the Blowfish, will perform Oct. 23, just weeks after his second solo country album hits stores. Rucker's solo hits include "Don't Think I Don't Think About It" and "It Won't Be Like This For Long." Tickets are $20 each.

Moore is another newcomer with a hit single, "Small Town USA," from his eponymous debut album. He'll close out the fair with a concert Oct. 24. Tickets are $5.

Concerts already announced include:

Danny Gokey, $5, Oct. 14.

Casting Crowns, $15, Oct. 15.

Honor Society, $5, Oct. 16.

Carolina Chocolate Drops, $5, Oct. 17.

Chris Young, $5, Oct. 19.

Gloriana. $5, Oct. 20.

Jeffrey Osborne, $10, Oct. 21.

Chris Tomlin, $10, Oct. 22.

All shows begin at 7:30 p.m., and doors to Dorton Arena open at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for these three concerts can be purchased online only at www .ncstatefair .org , beginning 8 a.m. Wednesday. Tickets for the concerts previously announced are on sale online now.

Discount entry and ride tickets also can be purchased from the fair's website through Oct. 14. Adult tickets are $6 in advance, $8 at the gate. Children's tickets are $2 in advance, $3 at the gate.

Children 5 and younger and seniors 65 and older get in free.

Ride sheets purchased in advance are $10 for 18 tickets.
