Now that you published Orrin H. Pilkey's opinions on the barrier islands and terminal groins ("Barrier islands and sea-level rise," Aug. 23 Point of View article), why don't you also publish the facts on the results of the independent scientific study mandated by the General Assembly on the same subject? Maybe because it was completed by a nonpartisan group of equally qualified engineers that determined that when designed correctly, hard coastal structures are not detrimental to the ecosystem and do work as designed and do protect property and save millions of dollars. But since liberals have no regard for personal property rights or economics, we get the propaganda of tree-hugging journalism. It makes me sick!
