From Staff Reports

A Garner man found lying in the street next to his wrecked scooter was charged overnight with habitual impaired driving.

Raleigh police arrested Greg Louis Garrahan, 39, Tuesday night after they found him lying in the road in the 200 block of S. Blount Street, according to documents filed in the Wake County Magistrate's Office. His 2010 F-Act-50 Keeway scooter was found lying near him, the documents state.

Police said in the documents that Garrahan, of 2328 Win Road, hit another vehicle with his scooter, smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. Police listed Garrahan's alcohol content as 0.19. The legal limit for driving while impaired is 0.08.

According to his arrest warrant, Garrahan was twice convicted of impaired driving offenses in 2002 in Johnston County and again in 2006 in Wake County.

Garrahan was being held in the Wake County jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. His scooter was impounded.
