A Zebulon teen was jailed after authorities said he sent sexually explicit photos to a 14-year-old girl via text message and encouraged her to produce sexually explicit photos of herself.
Johnathon Allen Smith, 18, of Jack Mitchell Road, was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of disseminating obscene material to a minor, one count of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to arrest warrants filed in the Wake County Magistrate's Office.
Authorities said in the warrants that Smith "sent sexually explicit images depicting sexual acts" to the girl on May23 through text messages.
