CARY -- Police are searching for suspects in connection to a series of burglaries in East Cary, officials announced this week.
Police are also distributing a sketch after one of the victims provided a description of a man they think may be responsible for the residential burglaries over the past two weeks.
Police have investigated six home burglaries and one attempted burglary in the Nottingham Drive area, according to a town press release.
The burglaries have occurred during the day when the victims are not at home, investigators reported.
Residents in the area have told police that they have observed a man repeatedly ringing the doorbell at the homes and then going to the rear of the residences where he throws a rock or a brick through a sliding glass door to gain entry.
The thief has taken gaming systems, jewelry and cash, police reported.
Anyone near the area during the time of the burglaries is encouraged to contact the Town of Cary Police Department at (919) 469-4013 or Cary Crime Stoppers at 226-CRIM(E). Crime Stoppers pays up to $2,500 for the arrest or indictment of those responsible for committing certain types of crimes. All calls will be kept confidential at caller's request.
