A 21-year-old Raleigh man was in jail today after police said he embezzled nearly $5,000 from a Taco Bell restaurant while an employee.
Dametrius Edward Spears, of 113 N. State St., was charged with three counts of embezzlement from an unspecified Taco Bell in Raleigh, according to arrest warrants filed with the Wake County Magistrate's Office.
Spears is accused of taking $4,882 from March 22 through April 8 of this year, the warrants state.
Spears is being held in the Wake County jail on $20,000 bond.

Travis “Tommy” Tomlinson, a former Raleigh mayor who helped calm the capital in the tense days after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., was remembered by hundreds of friends and family members Tuesday who gathered for his funeral at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh.
