RALEIGH -- Police pulled over a suspected drunken driver early Thursday and ended up arresting two young Raleigh mothers on child abuse charges after two children were found in the back seat.

Raleigh police stopped a 1998 Oldsmobile driven by Simmons near the intersection of North Raleigh Boulevard and Milburnie Road about 1:30 a.m. Thursday, documents state.
