Raleigh nurse held in attempted murder

Police arrested and charged a Raleigh nurse late Thursday night with conspiring with a teenager to murder someone.

Lachelle Clark, 36, is facing one count each of conspiracy and attempted murder, according to an arrest warrant filed in the Wake County Magistrate's Office.

Raleigh police have accused Clark, who has given authorities addresses in Raleigh and Augusta, Ga., of conspiring with 18-year-old Amir Brown of Raleigh to murder Latonia Baldwin on July 18. Clark also goes by the name Lachelle Huggins, warrants state.

Brown, of 6108 Flutterby Way, was previously arrested and charged with one felony count each of conspiracy, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and attempted first degree murder, according to arrest warrants.

Investigators have accused Brown of using a firearm to shoot and inflict Baldwin with a serious injury. Investigators stated in the arrest warrant that Brown and Clark intended to kill Baldwin.

Clark is in the Wake County jail on $1 million bond.

Brown is also in custody at the Wake County jail where he is being held on $1.5 million bond.
