Elizabeth Reeves, an 11th-grader at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, served as a Senate page in Washington for four weeks this summer.

She was the first page appointed by U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan of North Carolina.

Page duties include delivery of documents between the House and Senate, members' offices, committees and the Library of Congress. Other duties include preparing the Senate chamber for session, taking messages for senators or calling them to the phone, and carrying bills and amendments to the presiding officer's desk.

Elizabeth is the daughter of Mary Morgan of Raleigh and Eric Reeves of Dallas. She is the granddaughter of former U.S. Sen. and Mrs. Robert Morgan of Buies Creek and Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Reeves of Dallas.
