David Scott Sailer of Chapel Hill has earned his Eagle Scout rank, the highest achievement for a Boy Scout.

For his Eagle project, David transformed an unimproved area on the Durham Academy Upper School campus into a student meeting place. He built six benches, installed mulch and plants, and improved drainage.

He has held numerous positions in Troop 820, including senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader and patrol leader.

A student at Durham Academy, David is the son of Scott and Jean Sailer.
