Iris Bunn Ammons

Iris Bunn Ammons, 79, of 101 McArthur Street, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010.

She was born in Nash County on July 20, 1931 to the late Willie E. Bunn and Ella Abernathy Bunn. Iris was a retired bookkeeper with Damron Drug Store and an active member of Tabor City Baptist Church. Being retired for many years, she enjoyed her weekly bridge games, coffee socials each afternoon, and visiting with all her close friends.

Memorial service 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Tabor City Baptist Church, 200 Live Oak Street, Tabor City, NC 28463.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Surviving, daughter, Becky Thompson and husband, Wayne of Raleigh; son, Rusty Ammons and wife, Mary of Raleigh; grandchildren, Lindsey Thompson, Amanda Ammons, and Cody Thompson; sisters-in-law, Juanita Bunn of Stanhope, Janice Bunn of Wilson.

In addition to her parents, Iris was preceded in death by her brothers; Huel Bunn, Frederick Bunn and Marion Bunn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
