April Anya Grossi of Raleigh has been awarded the Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting.

For her Gold Award project, Grossi led three workshops on mandalas, circular art projects designed to help students reduce stress. Students at Leesville Road Elementary, Middle and High schools also learned about coping with stress in a safe manner and created a group mandala.

Grossi, the daughter of Fred and Carol Grossi, is a member of Girl Scout Troop 1472, led by Shelia Ewbank.
