Hillside quarterback Vad Lee (2) escapes the grasp of Dudley's Kevin Littlejohn (15) during their game at Hillside on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010.

With his future college coach Paul Johnson looking on, Durham Hillside's Vad Lee showed him what he has to look forward to.

The 6-foot-3 quarterback -- and Georgia Tech recruit -- dazzled Johnson and the home crowd with 259 total yards and five rushing touchdowns, as the Hornets stayed undefeated by easily disposing of previously unbeaten Greensboro Dudley 33-8 Friday night.

"I just came out here and played my game," said Lee, who left the game with a cramp in the fourth quarter. "My offensive line did it again and we just played a tremendous game."

Durham Hillside (5-0) wasted little time putting points on the board. On 4th and 4, Lee found Shawn Malloy for a 48-yard completion, then ran it in from 6-yards out on the next play for a 7-0 lead. Then, on their next possession, the Hornets again converted a 4th and 9 near at their own 44-yard line, and Lee capped off the drive with a 4-yard touchdown run to put his team ahead 13-0.

"That's just us showing confidence in what we can do on offense," said Lee about the fourth down attempts. "We know that we can get the job done. I have weapons all around me and the best offensive line in the state."

Lee, who threw for 141 yards and rushed for 118, scored three times in the first quarter and again in the second and third quarters to put the game out of reach.

The Durham Hillside defense was stout, holding the usually efficient Dudley (4-1) to 25 total yards in the first half and 87 yards for the game.

"I got a ton of confidence in that defense," Durham Hillside coach Antonio King said. "We have a lot of senior leadership and it shows."

Up next for the Hornets is the ultimate test -- a game against bitter rival Southern Durham.

"It's a dangerous game, it's a trap game, it's a rivalry game," King said. "One of our mottos is that we can't worry about anyone but Hillside. If we do what we are supposed to do, I'll put us up against anybody."
