The Carolina RailHawks' first playoff win, a 4-0 shutout of NSC Minnesota on Saturday, sent the NASL Conference champions into the semifinals of the USSF D-2 playoffs.
Next up for the RailHawks will be a Thursday night road game against the No. 6-seeded Montreal Impact, the defending USL-1 champions. The two-game series wraps up Sunday with a 6 p.m. match at Cary's WakeMed Soccer Park.
Montreal, the No. 6 seed, advanced to the semifinals by defeating the Austin Aztex 5-2 on aggregate. The Impact handed Austin a 2-0 defeat in the first leg in Montreal and then downed the Aztex 3-2 in the second leg in Austin.
