Do my eyes deceive me? Or did I really just read a quote from Republican Wake County school board member Chris Malone that "consensus is the lack of leadership"? I'm not sure what bothers me more, the totalitarian overtones of this and following statements or the utter lack of a sense of irony that would allow Malone to say such a thing.

Does he fail to realize that he's actively encouraging the same kind of tone-deafness that he and his fellow GOP'ers accused the previous board of?

I'm sorry, but you can't run against unresponsiveness, then turn around and embrace it - or can you? This is, after all, pure politics. Whatever the other guy does is reprehensible, but when you do it it's sensible. Sigh.
