Wolfpack piles up points

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Double-doubles by Bonae Holston and Brittany Strachan led N.C. State to a 92-72 women's basketball victory against Long Beach State on Tuesday night in the final game of the Beach Classic.

N.C. State (7-6) won its third straight with its largest points total since a 97-62 victory over UAB on Dec. 4, 2004

Holston had 17 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Strachan had 13 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double.

Marissa Kastanek added 13 points, Devin Griffin with a career-high 12, Amber White with 11 and Kody Burke with 10. The last time the Wolfpack had six players in double figures was in 2006 against Miami.

Courtney Jacob and Tipesa Moorer led Long Beach State (2-11) with 14 points apiece.

N.C. State next will host Fairfield at 1 p.m. Dec. 28 at Reynolds Coliseum.
