The sheriff's office in Orange County is investigating an armed robbery late Wednesday in Mebane.
Just before 10 p.m., two men held up the Pop Shoppe Citgo convenience store on U.S. 70, displaying a handgun and forcing the clerk to open the register. They fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
The suspects are described as young black men. One was described as in his early 20s, thin, wearing a dark leather jacket, dark jeans and white shoes.
The other was described as early 20s and thin as well, wearing a wool cap, a dark Cincinnati Reds jacket, dark gray jeans and black shoes.
They may have fled in a in a late 1990s champagne-colored Toyota Camry.
