4 detained in ATM robbery attempt

— Two 16-year-olds have been charged in connection with an attempted robbery on Tryon Road.

Raleigh police have charged Cedrick Antonio High and Shaquille Dshawn Hunter, both 16, with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Police say they approached a woman early Thursday at an ATM along Tryon Road and fired shots at her vehicle. The woman was not injured.

The vehicle used in the crime, a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, was reported stolen from a home on White Oak Road in Raleigh on Sunday, police say.

Raleigh police have also obtained juvenile petitions for two 14-year-old male suspects, also in custody in connection with the incident. One is accused of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.

The other is accused of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.
