If our leaders in state government ever wonder why we think so little of them, the latest argument being played out in the paper justifies our lack of faith in them.

Democrats now want a more bipartisan redistricting plan. Republicans who used to want it now say it can't be done, not enough time.

Former House Speaker Joe Hackney accuses the Republicans of stonewalling, conveniently forgetting that the Democrats blew it off when they were in power. Rep. Nelson Dollar then comes back with our favorite schoolyard cry: He did it first!

The Republicans have a chance to be adult and take the high road but instead want to play the same old games.

Is there not an adult in the legislature?
