RALEIGH -- RALEIGH -- The N.C. Museum of History will stay open later than usual this weekend to accommodate last-minute visitors to its George Washington exhibition, which closes next week.

The museum will be open until 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and until 7 p.m. on Sunday. It will also remain open Monday, which is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a state holiday.

"Discover the Real George Washington: New Views From Mount Vernon" is on view through Jan. 21. This has been the only stop in the Southeast for the traveling exhibition.

The exhibit is free for ages 18 and younger; $10 for 19 and older; $8 for senior citizens, active military personnel, students with identification, and adult groups of 10 or more. Details: ncmuseum ofhistory.org or 807-7900.

The museum reports the exhibit has drawn approximately 48,000 visitors so far.
