Alexander Tatge Finamore

Finamore, Alexander (Alex) Tatge Born January 1, 1985. Beloved son of Barbara Tatge of Bethesda and Paulo Finamore of Sao Paulo, Brazil, loving grandson of Gigliola Tatge of Bethesda, Alex died unexpectedly in his sleep on January 6, 2011. He is survived by six aunts, six uncles, and 14 cousins in the US and Brazil, all of whom loved and admired him for his kindness, love of life and commitment to justice. An honors student at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC, where he received his B.A. in psychology and criminal justice and founded the Guilford College Law Society, Alex went on to University of North Carolina School of Law, where he was to have received his Juris Doctor degree in May 2011. He distinguished himself at UNC by winning the Gressman-Pollit Award for promising oral advocacy skills and completing over 100 pro bono hours. Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, he was a world traveler, passionate fan of Brazilian soccer and lover of sun and sea. His death leaves sorrow in many hearts, but these same hearts rejoice in the memory of his beautiful smile and generous spirit. Alex’s family invites friends to a memorial mass in his honor on Saturday, January 15, 2:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle, 1725 Rhode Island Avenue, N.W. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alexander Tatge Finamore Fund at UNC School of Law, Attn: Brandon Wright, School of Law Annex, 101 East Weaver St.,Rm. 241, Carrboro, NC 27510.
