RALEIGH -- A third day of searching Falls Lake has failed to turn up a missing kayaker.

Late Tuesday afternoon, the Wake County Sheriff's Office awaited the arrival of a cadaver-locating dog from Charlottesville, Va.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Phyllis Stephens said the search, though downscaled, will continue. George Gregory Feeter, 39, disappeared early Sunday evening at Falls Lake, near the Barton Creek Boat Ramp off Six Forks Road.

Stephens said Falls Lake is not a huge area, but some parts are between 10 and 15 feet deep.

Feeter was described as a white man, standing slightly less than 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a yellow YMCA T-shirt and shorts.

Emergency dispatchers received a call about 7 p.m. Sunday from someone who reported hearing a person calling for help near the boat ramp. Searchers retrieved Feeter's kayak but found no sign of him.

"We want to help bring closure to the family," Stephens said.
