A former North Johnston Middle School teacher was arrested Tuesday on charges she gave alcohol to teens.

Kimberly Bailey Ward, 40, of 40 Crestline Drive, Selma, faces six counts of aiding and abetting underage possession of alcohol and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Ward resigned last week from the middle school, which is in the Johnston County town of Micro. She had taught at North Johnston Middle since August 2008, according to school personnel records.

According to arrest warrants, Ward caused the youngest of the six teens involved, a 13-year-old, to become intoxicated. The incident took place in January, warrants state.
