Wake sheriffs: Man tried to kidnap child in Raleigh

— Investigators at the Wake County Sheriff's Department are asking for help locating a suspect in an attempted kidnapping earlier today.

Phyllis Stevens, a spokeswoman for the law enforcement agency, said a white male in his late 50s, approximately 6-feet tall with either blond or white hair was involved in the attempted kidnapping of a child at 4:45 p.m. today at 3764 Tar Heel Club Road.

The man was last seen driving an olive green or gray Jeep Cherokee, an model from the early 2000s, with either gold or chrome tire rims and yellow brake calipers visible through the rims.
