Coming in hot: Freshman Travis McKie has been the bright spot in a dark season, and he's coming off another good game with 23 points and six rebounds in a loss at Boston College on Sunday.

Numbers to know: They're almost all ugly numbers, but two leap out: The Deacons have lost 11 in a row, and their last seven ACC losses have come by at least 14 points.

Contender or pretender: It would be a shock if the Deacons are still around on Friday. Two years ago, they were the 12th seed and reached the semifinals, but there's no sign of that happening this year. Expect a replay of their 16-point loss at Boston College on Sunday.
