The stars of the table tennis world - and a lot of aspiring athletes - converged on Cary for the 10th annual Cary Cup Championship on Saturday. More than 300 competitors slammed it out, including the U.S. National Team and professional players from Europe, Africa and Asia. At stake is more than $11,000 in prize money. Events began Thursday with a clinic for beginners. The weekend tournament got under way Friday. On Saturday, 144 players competed in a round-robin tournament. Today, the national and international players compete for the top prize money, beginning at 10 a.m. The games, free and open to the public, take place at Bond Park Community Center, 150 Metro Drive.
