Rosa Leonard Camarillo

Rosa Leonard Camarillo, beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, departed this life on Wednesday, April 06, 2011.

Rosa was a native of Nash County, born May 6, 1923, to the late Nathan Edgar and Annie Lou Poythress Leonard.

She was predeceased by her identical twin sister, Eva McCleary, and their younger sister, Ora Leigh Outlaw.

Rosa retired after 40 years from the NC Department of Revenue to care for her first grandson. She cared for her two grandsons for the next six years, nurturing and teaching them in their early years.

Rosa is survived by her daughters, Barbara Lewis and husband Chuck of Wake Forest; Marian Barnett and husband John of Raleigh; her sons, Nathan Camarillo and Roger Camarillo both of Raleigh; her grandsons, Charlie Lewis and Jeremy Lewis, both of Wake Forest, and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 9, 2011 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 219 W. Edenton St., Raleigh. Burial will follow at Mont lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
