Catherine (“Kay”) Frances Brennan Galvin, 67, currently of Asheville, NC but long-time resident of Raleigh, NC and Long Island, NY passed away, Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at home. Kay was a realtor with York, Simpson, Underwood and previously taught high school English in the New York City Public Schools, but above all she was devoted to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her brother, Andrew Brennan, wife Denise, of New York City, her son, James Galvin, wife Randy, of Charlotte and three daughters, Kay-Frances Brody, husband Dr. Michael Brody, of Cary, Barbara Green, husband Cliff Green, of Asheville and Kerry Galvin of Raleigh. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren; Drew, Connor and Kathryn Brody of Cary, Adeline and Ruby Green of Asheville, Riley, Bo and Smith Galvin of Charlotte and Kyler Vincent of Raleigh.
The family invites friends to come celebrate Kay’s life at a wake in the Brody’s home 209 Lindemans Dr., Cary, NC from 6:30-9:30 pm on Friday April 8th. Her funeral mass will be held at St. Luke the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 12333 Bayleaf Church Rd, Raleigh, where Kay was a founding member of the CCD program on Saturday, April 9th at 1 pm.
