Phyllis McCreary Harvey, 59, of Los Angeles, CA, and originally from Lenoir, NC, suddenly passed away on April 5, 2011. Her song has ended, but the melody lingers on. She will be missed by all and will forever remain in our hearts. She devoted her life to helping others; many of whom will never even know her name. Phyllis shaped her life by her belief in "random acts of kindness" and "pay-it-forward." One such act of generosity was her involvement with Operation Helmet, of which she donated sufficient funds to provide helmet pad upgrades for over 2,820 troops in combat. Her beautiful works of art always will remind us of her extraordinary talent. With her marvelous sense of humor, there will be joy-filled laughter in heaven, a place of no more tears, no more sorrow.
Left to cherish the memory of Phyllis are husband, Brian Harvey of Los Angeles; her "wombmate" and loving twin sister, Susan McCreary of Garner, NC; her father, Jack E. McCreary, formerly of Lenoir, now living in Garner, NC; sister, Jackie Cromett and husband, Bill of Scottsdale, AZ. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was predeceased by her mother, Jewell D. McCreary.
The funeral was held at Bel Air Presbyterian Church, Mulholland Drive, Los Angeles, CA. on Friday, April 8. 2011.
