Bank of North Carolina is opening its first Triangle branch this week.
The High Point-based bank plans to open its 25th branch at 4525 Falls of Neuse Road on Thursday, said Mark Carlton, senior vice president and city executive. Carlton previously was the Wake County market executive for First Third Bank.
Bank of North Carolina announced its expansion into the Triangle last year and expected its branch to be open in September, but renovations took longer than expected, said Carlton.
The opening will give Bank of North Carolina 18 branches in North Carolina and 7 in South Carolina. The South Carolina branches were added last year when it acquired Beach First National Bank of Myrtle Beach after it was seized by federal regulators. Bank of North Carolina operates as BNC Bank in South Carolina.
The acquisition increased the assets of corporate parent BNC Bancorp by $620 million to $2.2 billion.
