McKinney hauls in contract with Radio Flyer

Published: April 21, 2011

Durham advertising agency McKinney has a new toy to play with: a Radio Flyer wagon.

Actually, make that toys.

Chicago-based Radio Flyer, the maker of bicycles, tricycles, scooters and other childish products -- and, yes, that iconic red wagon -- announced today that McKinney will handle its advertising and marketing.

Time magazine recently named the red Radio Flyer wagon one of the top 100 all-time toys.

“Who doesn’t remember being pulled in a red Radio Flyer wagon?” McKinney's president, Jeff Jones, said in a prepared statement. “It’s an American classic that’s part of almost everyone’s favorite childhood memories. Our job is to help make Radio Flyer and its complete line of toys relevant to children so they spend more time outside playing and less time on the screen."

Financial details weren't disclosed.

McKinney's client roster also includes Coldwell Banker, Gold’s Gym, Big Boss Brewing, Radio Flyer, Nationwide Insurance, CenturyLink, Sherwin-Williams and Zenph Sound Innovations.
