A Raleigh teen is in jail today facing charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, authorities said.
Raleigh police arrested Tyquon Devoeta Meggett, 18, on Monday and charged him in the shooting of Rashaad A. McKnight last week, according to arrest warrants filed in the Wake County Magistrate's Office.
Police said McKnight was seriously injured in the shooting, which occurred last Thursday at the intersection of Garner Road and Calloway Street.
McKnight was transported to WakeMed Raleigh Campus, where he was listed in good condition today, according to a WakeMed spokeswoman.
Meggett, of 2807 Marsh St., is being held in the Wake County jail. His bail is set at $1 million.
Meggett was released from prison in February after serving four months on a felony firearms charge, according to Department of Corrections records.
