Drug, assault charges filed in Apex

— A domestic violence call led to an Apex man's arrest on assault and drug charges Sunday and a woman's arrest on drug charges.

Frank Henry Barnhart, 21, of 1724 Nasturtium Way, in the Avalon Peaks neighborhood, is charged with punching, kicking and choking a woman who lives at the same address. He is charged also with possessing more than 13 ounces of marijuana and 117 pills of the controlled drug Clonazepam, possessing scales for weighing marijuana, and "multicolored marijuana smoking devices," according to the arrest report.

Simone Erica Noz, 22, who lives at the same address, was arrested on the same drug charges.

Officers Deborah Hansen and C.A. Myers of the Apex Police made the arrests.

Both suspects were taken to the Wake County jail. Barnhart was held without bail pending a court appearance this morning; Noz's bail was set at $6,000.
