Four area teams won their age divisions this past weekend in the annual Coast Spring Classic held in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Two Triangle United Soccer Association boys teams - TUSA Valencia and TUSA Sevilla - won the U9 silver and bronze divisions, respectively. TUSA's U11 Flamengo squad won the U11 bronze boys division.
The Triangle Futbol Club Cosmos claimed the U12 boys gold division with a 1-0 win Sunday over TUSA Silver in the championship match.
In the U11 girls gold division, the TUSA Breakers finished second, and the TUSA U12 boys Corinthians were second in their age group's silver division.
Beat the Heat
The Capital Area Soccer League's Wake Forest United White U11 girls challenge team won its division in the annual Beat the Heat tournament in Winston-Salem.
The Wake Forest team scored a total of 24 goals in four tournament matches, giving up only two goals all weekend.
TUSA's '99 Black won the U11 boys division.
CASL Chelsea Academy
In the U.S. Soccer Federation Boys Academy play Sunday, CASL's U17/18 boys FC Chelsea Academy squad defeated Charlotte Soccer Academy 2-0.
The goals came from striker Monbo Bokar and midfielder David Sizemore. Goalkeeper Paul West earned the shutout.
The U-15/16 Chelsea boys Academy team lost 3-1 to the Charlotte Soccer Academy. Midfielder Fernando Castellanos scored the Chelsea goal.
CASL results
CASL's U17 ('93) Boys United Black earned two shutout victories over the weekend.
In its first match on Saturday, the United Black stopped the Winston-Salem Twins White squad 9-0, with three goals by Drew Altman, two each by Imani Nhasti and Tristan Maurer and one each by Daniel Rice and Chad Yanez. Goalkeeper Chris Mitchell was credited with the shutout.
Sunday, the United Black squad defeated Fuquay-Varina Flash White 4-0, off goals by Yanez, Rice, Kayvon Ezami and Ryan Lanier. Goalkeeper Jonathan Thibault got the shutout.

The CASL ('96) U-14 Girls Spartan Elite Black played to a 1-1 draw against Concorde Fire in Region III Premier League on Saturday. The CASL goal came from Katie Stokely. On Sunday, the Spartan Elite Black lost 3-0 to the Georgia Soccer Association.
In Region III Premier League play, the CASL ('96) U-14 Boys Elite tied Greensboro 0-0, with goalkeepers Vinny Durand and David Mccallum collaborating the shutout.
