RALEIGH — Triangle musicians are gearing up to raise money for victims of the April 16 tornadoes.
Raleigh Mayor Charles Meeker will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. Monday at the Raleigh Amphitheater to announce the city's benefit concert for tornado victims.
Raleigh rockers The Connells will headline the June 3 event at the downtown amphitheater. Meeker said 10 other bands will also perform.
Concertgoers will be asked to give at least $10, which will go to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and other groups helping storm victims.
"We're hoping to raise a lot of money," Meeker said Sunday.

Tornado warnings are fast and accurate, but still ignored
