Mary Ann Connell

Mary Ann Connell, 72, beloved mother, step-mother, grandmother, and step-grandmother, entered eternal life on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, after a long battle with cancer.

She was pre deceased by her husband James in 1988.

Mary Ann is survived by her son Gregory F. Morea and his wife, Barbara Luftglass-Morea and their children, Joseph and Rebecca Morea, of Gales Ferry, Connecticut; by her son Dr. Christopher J. Morea and his wife, Donna and their children, Christopher and Avery Morea of Raleigh, North Carolina; by her step-son, Jim Connell and his wife Leigh and their children, Jamie and Meghan of Flemington; her step-son Timothy Connell; her step-son William Connell and his wife Robin and their daughters Samantha and Alexandra of Somerset; and by her step-daughter Kellianne Flynn and her husband Jim and their daughter Bridget, of Flemington. Finally, she is survived by the love of her life, her Maine Coon kitty, Toots, now of Gales Ferry, Connecticut.

Visiting hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, May 30, at the Gleason Funeral Home in Somerset, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthias Church in Somerset at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway.

Special thanks go to the staff at Groton Regency Center in Groton, Connecticut as well as the Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Care Unit at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, Connecticut, for all their care.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Mary Ann’s memory be made to the music ministry at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1648 Route 12, Gales Ferry, CT, 06335
