Slade Roberson White, 86, died Thursday June 9, 2011 at his home. The funeral service will be held Sunday June 12, at 4:00 PM at Biggs Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.

Mr. White was born on December 1, 1924 to the late William Slade and Hattie White. He was retired from farming and was a member of the Everetts Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

On March 7, 1945 he married Sarah Grimes White who preceded him in death on March 25, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his son in law Lang Hardison on December 13, 2001, sister Murldean Gurganus, brother Ernest White, half brother William White and a half sister Blanche Cherry.

Survivors are a daughter Barbara W Hardison of Williamston, son Donnie White and wife Brenda of Williamston, grandchildren Don White and wife Danyel of Williamston, Allison White of Robersonville, Meredith Hardison of Charlotte, and Russ Hardison and wife Lindsey of Raleigh, great grandsons Christofer Slade White and Jackson White both of Williamston.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-8:30 PM at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence 2192 Spring Green Road.
