Our daughter, from a small rural high school, is one of thousands whose horizons were immeasurably broadened by attending the Governor's School summer program. Now we are told the state can no longer afford to fund this program. That is certainly not true. It is a matter of priorities. Our legislature just passed a law making it easier for multistate corporations to avoid paying North Carolina taxes. Our state has made a choice here, truly a sad one that we hope will be reversed.
