Wreck leads to power outage in Cary


— Power was lost in part of Cary early this morning after a car struck a utility pole, police reported.

The pole on Walnut Street near Meeting Street was hit at about 2:30 a.m., police reported. Crews from Progress Energy hope to have power restored by 8 a.m.

The driver was transferred to WakeMed in Cary for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No charges have been filed pending the completion of the investigation.
