DURHAM — Nighttime road work will cause delays for northbound drivers on N.C. 147, the Durham Freeway, tonight through Sept. 1.
The N.C. Turnpike Authority will close one northbound lane between Interstate 40 and T.W. Alexander Drive so road crews can build a new traffic lane in the median for the Triangle Parkway, a toll road that will open for traffic late this year. The lane closures are scheduled for 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night, weather permitting.
Also tonight, all northbound traffic will be halted for as long as 60 minutes at a time to allow for construction of overhead signs.
