It's hard to say what campaign slogan the candidate-forever Vernon Robinson of Winston-Salem will come up with this time around. Maybe "Robinson Rides Again" or "Got District?" The generous way to characterize the Republican former Winston-Salem city council member (his only elected office) would be to say he's ... well, interesting.

Among his campaigns was an innuendo-filled run against Democratic U.S. Rep. Brad Miller of the 13th District in 2006. Winston-Salem, by the way, wasn't in that district, but a U.S. House member doesn't have to live in the district he or she represents.

Robinson now says he'll move to Concord to run for the 8th District seat held by Democratic Rep. Larry Kissell of Biscoe. His family, he says, will stay in Winston-Salem (in the district of conservative Rep. Virginia Foxx). Voters might wonder whether a newcomer trying to get himself to Congress any way he can should be their candidate of choice.

Interesting. Again.
