This weekend, Triangle shoppers can spend their dollars to benefit the community at several fashionable charity events:

It's not often you can find Michael Kors and Coach purses or Kate Spade and Betsey Johnson shoes for less than $75. But that's exactly what shoppers will score at the Purses, Pumps and Pearls benefit sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. More than 2,000 new and gently used designer shoes, purses and jewelry will be on sale, priced from $3 to $75. Shoppers can also bid in a silent auction to win tickets to sporting events, the N.C. Symphony and movie theaters. The sale benefits North Raleigh Ministries, a nonprofit agency that provides food, financial assistance and other aid to needy people in the North Raleigh area.

The sale is at Harvest Plaza Shopping Center, 8800 Harvest Oaks Drive, Ste. 100, Raleigh. Admission is $5, cash only. For info, call 844-6676 or visit www.pursespumpsandpearls.com.

Adore and Clothes Hound boutiques are joining forces this week to put on a fashion show for a cause. Featuring fall clothing from both boutiques, the charity fashion show Saturday at Oliver Twist in Raleigh will benefit Adoption Option, a local animal rescue. Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation item for the rescue (needs include pet food, hooded litter boxes, leashes, collars, gently used blankets, etc.), and proceeds will benefit the nonprofit group.

The show starts at 8 p.m., and there will be cocktails, music and more. Tickets are $10 and available at www.eventbrite.com/event/2018893565. For more information, call 844-4426.

Support local charities and the March of Dimes on Saturday during Macy's Shop for a Cause day. By purchasing a $5 pass, shoppers can support the March of Dimes, as well as local organizations such as the Wake County SPCA, Urban Ministries of Wake County and Cornucopia Cancer Support Center, while receiving 25 percent savings on most regular, sale and clearance items in stores and online. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the charity. For more information, visit www.macys.com/shopforacause.

Help needy pet owners while you shop Sunday at ReTails Thrift Shop's monthly Clean Sweep sale. From noon to 6 p.m., everything in the resale shop will be 50 percent off. The event benefits the nonprofit AnimalKind, a group assisting low-income pet owners in getting their pets spayed or neutered. ReTails is at 1608 N. Market Drive, Raleigh. 872-0019, animalkind.org.
