Once again Mother Nature cuts an inlet through the Outer Banks. And, once again, we will fill in the inlet and build a new road.
This is a monument to the audacity of man - we will inhabit an uninhabitable place at the expense of many for the benefit of the few.
The time has come to rethink our folly and cease fighting with the superior foe! Mother Nature will always win. Maybe not tomorrow or next year, but she will win.
