In response to your Sept. 6 editorial "Jobs, jobs, jobs," please be real! Yes, President Barack Obama did inherit a difficult situation. But he owns it now since he has been in office for nearly three years! And during that time he's made the situation not only worse rather than better, but it's also now virtually impossible for us to extricate ourselves from the morass of his stimulus programs, his promotion of bloated government and a national debt that's not only obscene but also is far larger than that which he inherited.

His big plan seems to smack clearly of FDR's litany of WPA, CCC and all those other social engineering programs that didn't work then and won't work now. The Great Depression was halted only by the onset of World War II and definitely not the efforts of the Democratic Party, which was in power at that time and failed then as well. Give it up already, or better said, how's that hope and change doin' for ya, mate?
