The Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday announced that 67 games in the 2011-2012 season will be shown by the team's broadcast partner, Fox Sports Carolinas. All games will be in high definition.

Fox Sports Carolinas' coverage will include 37 of the team's 41 road games. John Forslund again will handle the play-by-play while Tripp Tracy will provide analysis.

The coverage begins with the Hurricanes' opening night game at the RBC Center, against Tampa Bay on Oct. 7, and will continue with nine of the team's 10 other October games. Fox Sports Carolinas will cover 22 of the Canes' 29 games in November and December.

In 2012, 37 of Carolina's final 42 regular-season games will be televised, including all 22 of the team's road games in that span. In all, 71 of the Hurricanes' 82 regular-season games, including 39 of 41 road games, will be available throughout North Carolina via most standard packages.

Friesen 5K Fun Run: Entries still are being accepted for the 2011 Friesen 5K Fun Run, set Sunday at the RBC Center.

The event, which benefits Leukemia & Lymphoma of Eastern North Carolina, begins at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $30.

The top three overall male and female runners in the 5K will receive awards. All registered participants will be eligible for special drawings including autographed items donated by Carolina Hurricanes players.

Single-game tickets for Canes home games in October, November and December will go on sale Sunday at 10 a.m.
