LOST TO WAKE FOREST 34-27

What worked

Quarterback Mike Glennon found his rhythm in the second half, throwing for 263 of his 315 yards and all three of his touchdowns. Glennon showed all the traits the coaching staff had praised him for in training camp: poise, arm strength and play-making.

What needs work

The defense was a mess, especially in the first half, and especially in the secondary. Wake Forest led 27-6 and 34-13 before the defense started to keep quarterback Tanner Price (297 passing yards) in check.

What's next

For the second time in three weeks, N.C. State (1-1, 0-1 ACC) hosts former Division I-AA team (South Alabama) at Carter-Finley Stadium. The Jaguars are making the move to the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2012 and will compete in the Sun Belt Conference in 2013.
